Crafting in-app narratives for Airbnb Experiences

Scaling premium copy for Airbnb’s 2025 Experiences launch

PROBLEM

Prior to launch, Airbnb hosts submitted their own copy for their own Experiences and Services offerings—over 50,000 in total. The result was a flood of inconsistent, often poorly-translated submissions. Airbnb had to find a way to rewrite 50K listings to align this content with Airbnb’s distinctive style and flair.

SOLUTION

Hired as one of 100+ writers, I rewrote raw host submissions into polished, on-brand Airbnb copy that met every guideline. My accuracy and speed earned me promotion to one of only three Copy Leads, where I was responsible for:

  • Running QA on other writers’ work

  • Hosting training sessions on Airbnb voice and writing standards for the final roster of ~25 writers

  • Personally writing and optimizing high-profile listings

RESULTS

  • Wrote, QA’d, or coached ~5,000 Experiences and Services listings in six months

  • Managed a team of 10 writers

  • Supported the global launch that generated:

    • 13,000 press stories

    • 660M social impressions

    • 60k host applications
